New Caledonia enjoys a subtropical climate with pleasant temperatures throughout the year. It can be divided into two seasons:
• The hot season from December to March: average temperatures vary between 25° and 27° Celsius with brief tropical showers. This is also the cyclone season.
• The cool season from April to November: average temperatures vary between 20° and 23° Celsius.
The seasons are disturbed by the El Niño phenomenon, represented by the appearance of warm currents in the tropical zone of the Pacific and responsible for droughts.
