The two partners have signed all the documentation for the loan amounting to 170 million euros – that is to say more than 20 billion XPF – granted by AFD to SMSP in 2011. With the signing of this documentation, SMSP can now mobilize fund from AFD and participate in the financing of the Northern plant. The operation is strongly supported by the Northern Province of New Caledonia which granted a partial guarantee to the project’s financing. This loan, the largest ever granted by AFD in a French overseas territory, completes its interventions in the economic development of the Northern Province and New Caledonia.
