On Monday August 6th a ceremony was held inside Furnace #1 to commemorate the placement of the first refractory bricks. This event is of particular importance for technical reasons because it represents an irrevocable step onto the final path to First Ore. Koniambo Nickel SAS President Peter Hancock congratulated the work of personnel from Construction, Pre-Operational Testing, Commissioning and Operations and the contractors who have all played a key role.
