NORTHERN PROVINCE
Northern Province covers an area of 9,560 square kilometres, that is to say 52% of the country’s total land area. Its boundaries stretch from the High Poya on the West to Canala on the East.
In terms of Administrative and Customary management, the Northern Province includes 17 municipalities and 199 tribes, 191 of them located into 28 customary districts. The Northern Province is also divided into 4 customary lands each of them represented by an Area Council.
Turned towards the future, the Northern Province provides great potentials in terms of economic, environmental and educational development.
SOFINOR
Société de Financement et d’Investissement de la Province Nord, SOFINOR, is a semi-public investment company under the control of the Northern Province of New Caledonia, which was created to acquire SMSP in October 5, 1990. Since 2014, its activity is centered on the mine and the metallurgy.
SODIL
Société de Développement et d’Investissement de la province des Iles Loyauté, SODIL, is the financial arm of the Loyalty Islands Province. SODIL bears the major economic projects in the community. To consolidate the economic network and sustain business creation, it ensures through conventions, technical assistance and guidance to projects.
